I started my career as a staff writer, took on additional tasks, including coordinating syndicated blog posts and working with our social media team on graphics. Work like this gave me experience working with other people’s writing, a good stepping stone to becoming an editor and solid understanding of the publishing world.
As a part of my role was to meet with literary agents who represent projects that appeal to the company’s interests. That was the time I started to get curious about literary agenting. I found an internship at a children’s literary agency and was encouraged to apply. I decided to walk through the door and build a new career path for myself. Since then, walking on this happy path, helping to connect books with readers which I’m sure is gonna be a very long journey…
